Obama won’t abandon the Easter Bunny after all

For all those small children worried about whether the White House Easter Egg Roll would fall victim to a government shutdown, they can rejoice: The bunny is planning to show up April 1.
White House spokesman Jay Carney told reporters Tuesday that while the administration was taking precautions by warning ticket holders the event could fall through, it is still on.
After noting that the White House was still watching to see if a continuing resolution would pass this week to keep the federal government running, Carney said, “I want to be clear — I want to be clear that because it certainly looks like there is progress being made and nobody expects a government shutdown, that we have every expectation that the Easter Egg Roll will proceed as planned. I hope that settles the matter.”
No word on how the looming debt ceiling crisis this summer will impact future Tooth Fairy visits.
