Santorum to pay tribute to Reagan at ....

GOP presidential hopeful Rick Santorum will make a major foreign policy speech on Thursday at the Jelly Belly factory in Fairfield, California. The choice of location is in honor of President Ronald Reagan – one of Santorum’s political heroes – who often spoke about the humble jelly bean. Giddy excitement has followed the announcement, as Santorum bids to win headlines and justify staying in the race against chief rival Mitt Romney.

The Jelly Belly factory has previously sponsored the ‘Ronald Reagan Centennial Celebration’ year, making the Ronald Reagan Centennial float. The company claims Reagan’s love of jelly beans began in 1966 and continued during his two terms as Governor of California. “It wasn’t long before jelly beans were passed around at important meetings,” the company wrote as an introduction to this video. Reagan’s favorite flavor was Licorice Jelly Belly beans:
