Only in America: Money buys influence, legally



“Make no mistake. Corporations are paying to influence legislation every single day,” Jennifer Granholm says. And it’s tantamount to bribery. Ironic bribery. Under the foreign corrupt practices act it’s illegal for U.S. businesses to give money to influence politics outside the country, but because of Citizens United they can buy that influence here at home.
