Bagpipe solidarity with OWS!
On March 17, 2012, Occupy Wall Street celebrated their six month anniversary. It also happened to be St. Patrick's Day.
Approximately 500 people gathered to spend the night in Liberty Square (Zuccotti Park), and just when things were getting quiet around 11pm, suddenly an ensemble of thirty or so bagpipers, drummers, and dancers arrived OUT OF NOWHERE, and marched on Zuccotti Park.
They were intercepted by the NYPD. We heard multiple reports that an NYPD officer even broke one of the musician's bagpipes. NYPD forced them to leave the area and would not allow them to play an encore.
Mayor Bloomberg and Ray Kelly clearly fear the solidarity between the St. Patrick's Day and Occupy Wall Street crowds. But we showed them!
