At the end of last month, David Sirota drew parallels between the A-Team and Blackwater/Haliburton private military contractors. On Wednesday, Rachel burned into our minds the image of Eric Cantor as Janet in Three'sFour's Company in explaining a budget-as-rent metaphor. And then last night we were treated to Speaker Boehner and a re-masculated Eric Cantor as Transformersattempting to decepti-con America into believing their effort to "transform" Social Security isn't part of their goal of privatization. What could be next? What other TV shows from your childhood (or pre-childhood for some of you) do you see as allegories for some aspect of modern politics? How about Paul Krugman as Arnold, Paul Ryan as Willis. What 'chu talkin' 'bout Paul Ryan?
(I've been trying to think of one for Love Boat, but I keep ending up with "Rachel Maddow your cruise director, Rachel Maddow your bartender, Rachel Maddow your captain...)
