That's right, they're playing catch with each other. I had to triple check but I'm almost positive this is not an April Fool's trick with "quadrocopters" bouncing on strings. 1,220,936 views since March 28, 2011 is hard to fake for April Fool's.
In fact, it's apparently part of a Swiss program called The Flying Machine Arena (explanation video here), which is basically a safe place to play with your flying robot. Even though the video includes people holding remote controls, it seems there's a mix of pre-programming and manual control.
But that's not to say it needs any manual control at all. It can bounce a ball all by itself, not only without any human help, but without the benefit of "eyes."
