Spending cuts in the CR

House Republicans are pushing for $32 billion in cuts to current fiscal 2010 government spending levels. They started the process Wednesday by releasing a list of proposed reductions to specific programs. The cuts on that list, however, are relative to President Obama's fiscal 2011 budget request, not current spending. House Appropriations Chairman Harold Rogers said the Republican plan would spend a total of $74 billion less than Obama's fiscal 2011 request.
