An Arkansas supermarket chain is reversing a decision by one of its stories to shield copies of an US Weekly cover featuring Sir Elton John and his partner David Furnish holding their newly adopted son. A shopper was offended and snapped a picture of a cover obscured by a sign reading, "Family Shield. To protect young Harps shoppers."
Late today, Harps Food Stores issued a statement saying the decision had been made by an individual store manager responding to complaints. But Harps' President and COO says when complaints about the shielding reached the corporate office, the decision was made that none of the magazines would be covered at any Harps store. Lawrence will talk about the controversy (and plenty of other topics) with Meghan McCain tonight at our NEW time, 8:00 p.m. Eastern!
