Democrats play games with START
"To suggest that we can dual-track an issue as important as the funding of the government with this almost 2,000-page, $1 trillion- plus bill at the same time that we are seriously debating the START treaty is a fantasy. Both of those deserve the full focus and attention of the American people and not to be bouncing back and forth from one to the other without adequate time to do either one justice." -U.S. Senate Republican Whip Jon Kyl speaking out on the Democrats' irresponsible year-end effort to jam through the new START treaty. Senate Democratic leaders have let the new treaty languish during 2010, only bringing it to the floor in late December, even though senators on both sides acknowledge that the treaty needs several weeks for proper consideration and amendment.
