Pres. Obama spoke at Joplin High School’s graduation ceremony in Missouri.  Joplin was the sight where a 2011 tornado claimed the lives of over 160 people.
Last May, the President attended a Memorial Service for the victims of the Joplin Tornado shortly after the storm hit the city of 50,000.  The tornado struck an hour after the 2011 graduation ceremonies had finished last year.  160 people were killed in the tornado including seven students and one staff member of Joplin High School.
The High School building was leveled, forcing returning students to attend classes in a mall this year. This year’s commencement ceremony will take place in the gym of Missouri Southern State University.
Last week, Pres.Obama delivered the commencement address at Barnard College, a private women’s liberal arts college in New York City.
